He was predeceased by: his sisters, Vera, Era, Jo Ellen Guffey, Beatrice Ayers, Louise Bott, Laura "Mable" Adams and Hazel "Evelyn" Jordan.
He is survived by: his sons, Paul Stephen (Emily) of Plano, Texas, John Mark (Terrie) of Carrollton, Georgia, Nathan Homer (Vilma) of Pineville, Louisiana and Samuel Glen of Ruston, Louisiana.; his siblings, Edsel Morris (Carolyn) of Elgin, Bill Wayne (Nancy) of Fernandina Beach, Florida, Velda Rae Pennington (Russell) of San Antonio and Benola Joy Robinson (Jerry) of Donna, Texas; and his grandchildren, Daniel, Nicholas, Preston, William, Dylan, Hayden Ponder, Zachary Wright, Jaccob Mobbs, Claire Ponder and Ja'Nyah Smith.
