He was predeceased by: his wife Tommy Dean Hearne; his grandson David Josiah Halbrook; his parents, James Ernest and Anna Rebecca Hearne (Cockerham); and his sisters, Virginia Barr and Edith McConathy.
He is survived by: his daughters, Margaret Anna Myers (Kevin), Patricia Willis (Glenn Tracy), Mary Elizabeth Halbrook (Andy) and Eugenea Howard (Kevin); his grandchildren, James Backest (Nicole), Joel Myers (Haley), Ashley Coker, Michelle Willis Campanella (Joe), Scot Willis (Rebecca), Madison Gibson (Daniel), Andrew Halbrook (Amber), Katie Howard, Peter Howard and Peyton Howard; his sister Eloise Hearne Koonce; his brother-in-law Lamoine McConathy; and also Clinton Mitchell.
