He was predeceased by: his stepfather Walt Compton; and his grandparents, Pat and Lora Dring of Simsboro, LA.. He is survived by: his parents, Patsy Dring Compton of Ruston and Owen Maxwell Canady of Arcadia; his siblings, Cindy (Chuck East) of Monroe, LA, Patti (Lorman Smith) of Mansfield, TX and Scott Canady (Chanda) of Jonesboro, LA; his uncle John Lee Dring of Ruston, LA; his siblings' children, Chris Weems, Skyler Canady, Zachary Smith, Sladen Canady, Saxton Canady and Carly Smith; his great-nephew Brintley Weems; his great-nieces, Madison Weems and Sailor Canady; his cousin Jason Dring; Chris, Skyler, Zachary, Sladen, Saxton and Jason.
