We bid farewell to Carlton J. Lavergne of Scott, Louisiana, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on May 22, 2025 at the age of 90. Carlton touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Jerasizme Lavergne and Ellena Matte Lavergne; his wife Loretta Richard Lavergne; his granddaughter Olivia Bourgeois; his great grandchild Caleb Seth Guidry II; and his sister Yolande Matte.
He is survived by: his daughters, Peggy Guidry (Randall) of Church Point, Chris Bourgeois (Todd), Angie Champagne (Brock) and Rachelle Lavergne of Lafayette; his grandchildren, Garrett, Dustin, Caleb Guidry, Hannah Link, Blaise, Savannah, Elliot Bourgeois, Madison Fogle and Austin Champagne; and his sisters, Betty Morgan (Leonard) of Rayne, LA and Patricia Lively of Lafayette. He is also survived by 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 27th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Guidry Funeral Home (219 N Broadway St, Church Point, LA 70525). A rosary was held on Tuesday, May 27th 2025 at 1:15 PM at the Guidry Funeral Home Inc. (219 N Broadway St, Church Point, LA 70525). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, May 27th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (114 Bienvenu St, Church Point, LA 70525).
