He was predeceased by : his parents, Lonnie Phillips and Amy Phillips; his siblings, Thommie Phillips and Genora Fontenot; and his nephew Michael Mouton.

He is survived by : his wife Rudell Phillips; his daughters, Shannon Phillips and Dayna Phillips-Mills (Doyle); his stepchildren, CJ Guidry (Helen) and Janet Leger (David); his sisters, Mary Trahan and Dorothy Mouton; his nephew Blake Mouton (Adeeb Harb); his great grandchildren, Ben Judice and Gage Guidry; and his granddaughters, Gabrielle Mills and Nadia Turki. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
