She was predeceased by: her parents, Glen Dayton Nixon and Lillie Mae Holyfield Nixon. She is survived by: her husband Gene Young; her son Mark Edwin Young (Barbara) of New Orleans; her grandchildren, Matthew Edwin Young (Emily) of Cincinnati, Madeline Elizabeth Young of Denver and Patrick Joseph Young of Mandeville, Louisiana; and her great grandchildren, Maria Thérèse Young, Sophia Zélie Young and Ignatius Edwin Young.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 7th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Rose-Neath Funeral Home (1815 Marshall St, Shreveport, LA 71101). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the St. Paul's Episcopal Church (275 Southfield Rd, Shreveport, LA 71105).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church -- Matthew 25 Ministries.
