With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Ona Welch Hedrick of Shreveport, Louisiana, born in Wisner, Louisiana, who passed away on October 3, 2021 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Edith Welch and Howard Welch; her husband Donald Eugene Hedrick; her son Donald Wayne Hedrick "Pete"; her siblings, Lee Opitz, Ann Welch, Nell Guillory, Shirley Swindle and Harold Welch; and her grandparents, Lena Allen, Harum Lod Welch, John Cagie Mac Tidwell and Maggie Kendrick Tidwell.

She is survived by: her daughters, Joy Jones (Keith) of Richmond, VA and June Barnhill (Darrell) of Shreveport, LA; her grandchildren, Becky Jones Maskal, Brandon Jones, April Barnhill Schnebelen, Amy Barnhill Berlin, Jill Hedrick and Jason Hedrick; her great grandchildren, Jessica Thornton, Tyler Thornton, Max Kennedy, Casey Jones, Alex, Harper Hedrick, Paige, Garrett, Pete Paintin, Shea Smith, Andrew, Cole, Avery Schnebelen, Gracie, Briggs and Ava Berlin; her sisters, Donna Nolan and Collis Ezell; and her sister-in-law Dot Welch. She is also survived by five great great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Kingston Christian Academy or to the charity of the donor's choice.
