He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Hunt Guilbert and Ida McMillan Guilbert; and his sister Sandra. He is survived by: his wife Ruth (Sundberg); his children, Shelby, Jr. (Alexis) of Atlanta, Georgia, Neill (Kelly) of Montrose and Margaret; his grandchildren, Piper, Neill, Jr., Catherine, Eloise, Graham, Scott and John; and his brother Edward (Sara). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any memorials be given to the Haiti Education Foundation or First Presbyterian Church of Shreveport so they can continue the outreach work that was so close to his heart.
