He was predeceased by : his parents, Roy Lee Cooper and Mae Bass Cooper; his son Freddie C. "Pete" Cooper; and his siblings, Lola Thompson, Wanda Martin, Minnie Quay Harris and Clark B. Cooper.

He is survived by : his wife Edna Cooper; his children, Cheryl Cooper Mouliere (Marshall), Joan Cooper Hampton (Gary) and Dennis Cooper (Kristine); and his grandchildren, Chelsea Cooper, Hunter Tyler, Emma Cooper and Abigail Cooper.
