He was predeceased by: his child Shannon L. King; and his parents, Lynn Lightfoot King and Madge Clanahan King. He is survived by: his wife Dixie Mears King; his children, Scott A. King (Cindi) and Kelly K. Newell (Don); and his grandchildren, Katie Hill (Daniel), Scott King, II, Gena Farmer (Pierre) and Thomas Newell. He is also survived by five great grandchildren.

Donations to the First United Methodist Church of Slidell, preferred, in lieu of flowers.
