With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Elizabeth Willoughby Verzwyvelt of Slidell, Louisiana, born in Tabor City, North Carolina, who passed away on August 5, 2023 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Elster Paul Verzwyvelt; her son Gary Paul Verzwyvelt (Annie Fry Verzwyvelt); her parents, Grace Hearn Hatch and Benny Bruce Willoughby; and her siblings, Benny Bruce Willoughby Jr. and Jean Willoughby Laughlin.
She is survived by: her children, Liz Verzwyvelt Wiggins, Brent Patrick Verzwyvelt (Kim Blagrave Verzwyvelt) and Andy Verzwyvelt Hodson; her grandchildren, Kate Messer, Bryce Haddad, John Paul Verzwyvelt, Eric Verzwyvelt, Haley Haddad, Hannah Haddad, Catherine Hodson, Christina Hodson, Madison Fredrickson and Abby Verzwyvelt; and her great grandchild Lily Anne Messer. She is also survived by extended family members and friends.
