He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Sanders Sr. and Provencia Benenate; and his brothers, Charlie and Nathan. He is survived by: his wife Marie Sanders; his children, Linda Roberts (Malcolm), Henry Sanders III and Michael Sanders Sr. (Pamela); and his grandchildren, Earl, Valerie, Bryan, Michael, Sheryl, Keith, Mark D., Jeffrey and Mark S.. He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren with a host of many cousins, nieces and nephews.
