He was predeceased by: his parents, Irma Lillian Adams Harper and Willie James Harper. He is survived by: his wife Pauline Harper; his daughters, Toshia Card (Todd) of Gainesville, Amber Harper Chauncey of Live Oak and Nicole Harrison of Covington, Louisiana; his stepdaughters, Lisa Gomez (Ray) of Slidell, Louisiana and Darlene Henderson of Slidell, Louisiana; his grandchildren, Lilly Claire Ingram, Nico Marrone, Dawson Tucker Card, Hayden Alexander Card, Brendan James Beck, Zachary Landon Harrison, Emma Claire Harrison, Ray Carlos Gomez, Christopher Miguel Gomez, Robert Quentin Gomez, Rafael Santana Gomez, Elizabeth Paige Fisher, Gavin Scott Pellissier, Austin David Pellissier and Olivia King; his brothers, James Douglas Harper of Baton Rouge and Edwin Wesley Harper of Bogalusa; and his sisters-in-law, Paula Harper of Bogalusa and Julie Harper. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Visitation (adhering to social distancing guidelines) on Saturday, August 29, 2020 from 10:00 a. m. to 11:00 a. m. at Audubon Funeral Home in Slidell.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital are requested in accordance with John's wishes.
