She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie Jackson and Augustine Jackson; and her brother Joseph R. Jackson. She is survived by: her daughter Almitra; her son-in-law Richard Love of Slidell, LA; her godson Glenn Brousseau of New Orleans, LA; and her friends, Patricia Peters of Hattiesburg, MS, Sarah Ann Morgan of Kenner, LA and Emma Cooley of Waveland, MS.
She went on to pursue a career in dietetics, working at Charity Hospital in New Orleans and Southern University in Baton Rouge.
