It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Gaughan of Slidell, Louisiana, who passed away on June 14, 2021, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Shirley Gaughan to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Herman Cornelius Stewart and Carnie Dell Stewart (Fultcher); her daughter Linda Carol Smith; her siblings, Oscar Stewart, Elizabeth Bray and William Stewart; her husbands, Thomas Etheldred Smith Jr. and Michael Edward Gaughan; her son Lytton Reginald Wheeler; and her great grandchild Tasha Marie Williams.
She is survived by: her daughter Cheryl Wade-Schreiner (Ronald); her great grandchild Timothy Cobb; her children, Thomas Smith (Linda), Willie Wise (Alan), Joseph Smith, Shirley Modlin (David) and Susan Tackett; and her grandchildren, Sabrina Hinton, Christopher Smith, Bonita Frye, Erika Wilson, Justina Sung, Jacinda Cobb, Jessica Wade-Norris, Justin Smith, Brian Smith, Amanda Smith, Mariah Smith and Dylan Modlin. She is also survived by 19 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
