He was predeceased by: his wife Sharon Elizabeth Robbins Simmons; his parents, Verlie D. Simmons (Bud) and Fay Ola Simmons (Richards); and his siblings, Emily Decker, Joyce Phillips, Tommy Simmons and Billy Simmons.
He is survived by: his son Clayton James Simmons; his grandchildren, Elijah James, Jacob Levi and Kaylee Jesmon; his children, Sarah Fowler (Billy) and Stephen Wayne Simmons; his grandchildren, Stephen Preston and Phoebe Jane; his sisters, Carole Rankin and Joy McNamara; and his friend Nancy Volotko. He is also survived by numerous nieces, great nieces and nephews.
