She was predeceased by: her parents, Francis Sam and Theresa Collins Sam; her son Harold Matthew Brooks; her brothers, Francis Sam, Jr., Harry Sam, Leo Sam, Leroy Sam, Gabriel Sam, Clifton Sam and Lucien Sam; and her parents-in-law, James and Sylvia Brooks.
She is survived by: her husband Harold Brooks of Sunset; her daughters, Michelle Sam Brooks of Sunset and Dwan Brooks of Sunset; her stepdaughter Amanda Francis of Houston, TX; her nieces, Deja Cohn of Sunset, Xenia Sam of Sunset and Wendy Sam of Sunset; her stepson Marcus Minix of Lafayette; and her godchildren, Lucretia Brooks and Edward Brooks. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren.
