He was predeceased by: his father Lyle; his stepmother Mary Lou Shoemaker; his mother Lola DeSerisy (Art DeSerisy); and his sister Lyola Greene. He is survived by: his wife Matilda Shoemaker of Sunset; his children, Lyle Shoemaker of Sunset, Aaron Shoemaker (Monica) of Bentonville, AR, John "Skip" Shoemaker, Jr. (Melissa) of Houston, TX, William Shoemaker of Opelousas, Maryanne Shoemaker Davis (Thomas) of Monroe and Christina Shoemaker Meche (Jason) of Pecaniere; his grandchildren, Grace, Aaron, Abby, Alex, John Michael, Nick, Jake Shoemaker, Hunter, Hailey Davis, Andre Meche and Paisley Shoemaker; his brothers, Robert Shoemaker of Hurricane, UT, Byron DeSerisy (Deborah) of Rogers, AR and Patrick DeSerisy (Cindy) of Hiltonhead, SC; and his brother-in-law Alex Greene of Buford, SC.. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
