She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Edna Pitre and Verby Ann Pitre; the father of her children Fred B. Fontenot; her children, John Fred Fontenot Jr. and Janita Chapman; her sister Bonnie Fontenot; her brother-in-law Hersey Fontenot; and her great grandchild Maizey Lynn Vidrine.
She is survived by: her children, Joseph Edna Fontenot, Anthony Fontenot, Sandra Vidrine (Terald) and Christine Fontenot; and her grandchildren, Jude Vidrine (Brittany), Melony Delahoussaye, Lance Vidrine (Katie), Ryan Vidrine (Jamie), Hope Stack (Doug), Skii Edmond, Korey Chapman (Darnella), Meghann Soileau (Jared), Alexis Chapman, Michele Fontenot, Sarah Fontenot and Jared Bordelon.
Visitation was held on Monday, July 21st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the LaVille Funeral Home (2353 E Main St, Ville Platte, LA 70586). A rosary was held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 at 8:00 AM and at 6:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (708 E Main St, Ville Platte, LA 70586). A burial was held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 at the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
