We are sad to announce that on July 21, 2025, at the age of 71, Benny Dawain Gunter of Woodworth, Louisiana passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ben Gunter and Maxine Strickland Gunter; and his siblings, George Gunter, Joseph Gunter and Roxanne Gunter.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Ann Orser Gunter; his daughters, Amanda Trammell (Alan) of Alexandria and Lisa Aymond (Mack) of Woodworth; his grandchildren, Ava Lemoine (Wesley), Sarah Hamilton, Mackenzie Aymond, Laryn Aymond, Emily Hamilton and Brayden Aymond; and his great grandchild Ben Hamilton.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Dawain Gunter's Funeral Service (2817 Rapides Ave, Alexandria, LA 71301). A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the Alexandria Memorial Gardens - Woodworth (8855 US-165, Woodworth, LA 71485).
In lieu of flowers, charitable donations in Benny's memory can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
