With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Dorothy Rester (Zachary, Louisiana), who passed away on December 7, 2025 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Minnie Seal and Clarence Seal; her husband Eugene Rester; her granddaughter Denise Nicole Rester; and her sisters, Jackie Seal, Dale (Louis Carrier) and Gloria (Jerry Jordan).
She is survived by: her son Ronald Rester (Wanda) of Zachary; her grandchildren, Randy, Dawn Verrett, Charles, Brandie Verrett, Lea, Jason Waxley, Beth, Josh Kirk and Jeremiah Anderson; and her great grandchildren, Nathan, Ryan, Lucas, Sophia Verrett, Alice, Craig Waxley, Alyssa Trabeau and Brayden Mills.
Viewing will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church (4200 Main St, Zachary, LA 70791). A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens (6213 Groom Rd, Baker, LA 70714).
