He was predeceased by: his wife Aliene Kirkwood Kent; his parents, Lonie Kent and Edith Kent; his son Jimmy Glenn Kent; and his siblings, Willie J. Kent, Hiney Kent, Thelma Kent Brown and Alma Kent Miller.
He is survived by: his children, Debbie Kent Richardson (Frank) of Lake Charles, LA, Connie Kent Melkild of Baton Rouge, John Kenneth Kent of Texarkana, TX and Michael Kirk Kent (Ginger) of Zachary; his sister Barbara Kent Bennett of Zachary; and his grandchildren, John Kent, Noah Malone, Kelli Kent, Kirk Kent, Claire Simmons, Jimmie Ann Kent, Daniel Melkild, Jeffrey Kent, Korey Kent and Lindsey Pearson. He is also survived by eighteen great-grandchildren.
