He was predeceased by : his parents, Kathryn Mae Ivers Davis and Norman Davis; his stepparents, Ruth Davis and V. L. "Bay" Bourgoyne; and his son-in-law Gale Rabalais.

He is survived by : his girlfriend Sylvia Lynn Burris Bourgoyne; his daughters, April Marie Peterson (Matthew Peterson) and Jessica Leigh Bourgoyne; his siblings, Rev. Jesse Bourgoyne (Janice) of Watson, LA, Emile Bourgoyne (Denise) of Melville, LA, Martha Davis Sexton (Tony) of Guntersville, Alabama and Molly Creed (Stephen) of Baton Rouge; and his grandsons, Andrew Peterson and William Peterson.

Visitation was held on Saturday, May 4th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the St. Andrews Episcopal Church (11015 Church St, Clinton, LA 70722). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 4th 2024 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
