He was predeceased by: his son Richard B. McCarthy; and his sibling Joan McCarthy. He is survived by: his wife Mary A. McCarthy (McManus); his children, Maura Dionne (Charles) of Windham, NH, Kerin McCarthy Fredman (Andrew) of Coral Gables, FL, Deirdre Katz (Douglas) of Boxford, Jennifer McCarthy of Abington, Sean McCarthy of Plymouth and Michael McCarthy (Stacy) of Bridgewater; his siblings, Patricia Foley (Daniel) of Middleboro, Jeanne McKenna, George McCarthy and Brian McCarthy; and his grandchildren, Gabrielle, Zachary, Alexander, Natalie, Joshua, Juliana, Christina, Matthew, Kerrin, Margaret, Molly, Kathryn, Luke, Liam and Lily.
