She was predeceased by: her parents, Dr. Frederick Wooten Wilkerson and Kathleen McCord Wilkerson of Montgomery, AL.; her son Peter Wilkerson Kimball; and her brother Frederick W. Wilkerson, Jr.. She is survived by: her husband John Ward Kimball of Andover, MA; her son Christopher (Elizabeth) of Thousand Oaks, CA; her grandchildren, Glenn and Rachel; her son Nicholas (Lynn) of Magnolia, MA; her grandsons, Gregory, Jeffrey and Eric; and her sister-in-law Valerie Wilkerson of Montgomery.

In accordance with Margaret's wishes there will be no memorial services, but contributions in her memory may be made to support the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, 465 Huntington Avenue, Boston, MA 02115.
