He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Phil Sayles and Mildred Sayles; his former life partner Lydia Coolidge Sayles of New Haven, Connecticut.; his wife Mary Louise Sayles of Windsor, VT; his children, Jennifer Harville (David) of Westmoreland, NH and John Sayles (Sonya Theriault) of Portland, ME; his sister Meredith Sayles Hughes (Tom) of Albuquerque, NM; his stepdaughters, Patricia Horn (Mark Preece) and Cynthia Grant; his nephews, Chris Jeter and Gulliver Hughes; and his grandchildren, Drew Smith, Dylan Grant, Benn Grant, Jake Harville, Sheridan Harville, Elena Preece, Annie Preece, Lydia Sayles and Ezra Sayles.
