He was predeceased by: his brother John E. Burns. He is survived by: his wife Claire B. Burns (Mitson); his children, Kevin, Terence, Emmet, Liam, Padraig, Moira Deirdre and Eileen; his sister Agnes B. Hughes; and his parents, John P. and Agnes J. Burns (Agnew).
