He was predeceased by: his son Tobin Michael Smith; his siblings, Raymond Smith and Sally Freitus; his former wife Patricia Ann Smith (DeLauretis); and his parents, Thomas Dempster Smith and Mary Smith (Bushnoe).
He is survived by: his son Kyle Joseph Smith; his close friend Tabitha Gayle of Augusta Maine; his daughters, Dana Marie Mauro (John Mauro Jr.) of Auburn and Leslie Ann Donahue (Michael C. Donahue) of Worcester; his close friend Beth Sachs; his sister Margaret Alexander (Peg) of Ayer, MA.; and his grandchildren, Kayla Marie Rossetti of Worcester, Krysta Lynn Rossetti of Worcester, Nicholas John Mauro of Auburn, Zachary Michael Mauro of Auburn and Emily Maureen Donahue of Worcester. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
