She was predeceased by: her parents, Rev. Albert J. and Edla W. Laurell (Windahl); and her husband Albert C. Bates. She is survived by: her children, Gary P. Bates (Charlene) of Raleigh, NC, Nancy M. Snow (David) and Ronald A. Bates (Michele); her grandchildren, Christopher, Jessica, Jeremy, Kristen, Jason, Sean and Alyssa; her great grandchildren, Justice and Jaxton; and her close friends, Michelle, Heather and Rev. John Sugden. She is also survived by several nephews, nieces.
