He was predeceased by: his parents, Alexina "Tina" Nicklas, (Lausier) and John G. "Jack" Nicklas, Jr. (Raised); and his sisters, Joan H. Fulton (late Archie) and Nancy L. Nicklas. He is survived by: his wife Kristina R. "Tina" Nicklas (Swanson); his son Richard D. Nicklas, Jr. of Braintree; his grandchildren, Charlie, Elle, Clara and Hannah; and his siblings, John G. "Jack" Nicklas III (Pat) of Plymouth, Suzanne M. Palmer (Donald) of Milford, Gerald J. Nicklas (Therese) of Quincy and Paul J. Nicklas (David Higgins) of Milton. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, their families, friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 28th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Sweeney Brothers Home For Funerals (1 Independence Ave, Quincy, MA 02169). A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Saint John the Baptist Church (44 School St, Quincy, MA 02169). The military honors was held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 at the Blue Hill Cemetery (700 West St, Braintree, MA 02184).
