Robert Brooks Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Robert Brooks (Braintree, Massachusetts), who passed away on December 3, 2018 at the age of 85. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Robert Brooks to pay them a last tribute.
Bob attended the University of Miami, Florida and even at only 5'5", he played basketball for Babson College. During the Korean War, he served with the U.S. Army 64th Medical Corps and was their Director of Sports. He was a member of the Weymouth semi-pro football team and Morrissey football of Quincy, and also was part-owner of the Farm Team of the Patriots. Bob was a former member of the Braintree Jr. Chamber of Commerce, and for his dedication to the Braintree Rotary Club he was made a Paul Harris Fellow. He was the son of the late William G. Brooks and Helen Hare Brooks and brother of the late Richard S. Brooks and David P. Brooks. He is survived by his brother, William H. Brooks, daughter Kim Brooks and her husband Bill Conboy, daughter Kristen Brooks, granddaughter Jillian Oster, and his former wife Joan Gustafson Brooks. Visitation will be on December 8th at 9:00 AM at the Braintree Peck Funeral Homes, 516 Washington St., followed by a Christian prayer service at the funeral home at 10:15 and burial at 11:30 at the Blue Hills Cemetery at 700 West St., Braintree.
