He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouse Doris E. "Elaine" Scales (Hayes); his children, Jeanne Gilbert (Michael) of York, Robert Scales of Quincy and Kevin Scales of Weymouth; his siblings, Marilyn Hirtle of Halifax, Lawrence Scales of Holbrook, Frank Scales, Elizabeth Brennan and Janet Keyo; and his grandchildren, Cameron Gilbert and Grace Stamatakis. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.

Donations in memory of Robert may be made to Alzheimers Assn., MA Chapter, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452.
