He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel H. MacDonald and Catherine MacDonald (McDermott); his siblings, Russell H. MacDonald (Phyllis "Chickie" MacDonald) and Barbara Lyman (Eddie); and his niece Denise Chambers (John).

He is survived by: his nieces and nephews, Karen MacDonald, Robert Kendrick (late Gina), Corey Chambers, Braintree Police Dept, Kyle and Tyler Ruest.
