He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Spock and Jane Spock; and his son Peter Spock. He is survived by: his wife Judith Wood Spock of Chicago; his children, Daniel Spock (Lisa First) of Charlotte and Susannah Spock of Port Angeles; his granddaughter Nadia Spock of Chicago; his brother John Spock of Los Angeles; and also Kyoto. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and their children.
