He was predeceased by: his parents, Salvadore Carl Sottile, Sr. and Martha Sottile (Bellamecina); his wife Thelma Ramsay; and his siblings, Paul, Sam, Frank Sawtelle, Mary Donovan, Stella Crosby and Ellen Casagrande.

He is survived by: his grandsons, Brian Bailey-Gates (Emily), Christopher Bailey-Gates and Michael Bailey-Gates; and his great grandchild Connor Bailey-Gates.
