She was predeceased by: her parent Jordan Kauffman; and her stepparent Milton Gordon. She is survived by: her spouse Matthew Garston; her parent Molly Gordon; her child Stacy Garston; her parent-in-law Dustin Tupper; and her siblings, Michael Kauffman (Robin), Phyllis Kauffman and Richard Gordon (June Swanson).

In lieu of flowers, donations in Barbara's memory may be made to the American Liver Foundation.
