She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard Allen and Mary Allen (Dunn); her husband Edward Bates; and her close friend Joe Gilbert. She is survived by: her pets, Molly and Merry; her children, Janet Gargan (Michael) of Danvers, Julie Travers (Al) of Danvers, Joanne Carlson (Bill) of Danvers, Jim Bates (Barbara) of Andover and Jeff Bates (Debbie) of Danvers; her grandchildren, Jason, Brian, Katie, Kristen, Steve, Amy, Lauren, Karen, Justin, Kevin, Ryan, Eddie, Kelly and Kaitlyn; her great grandchildren, Bryan, David, Medea, Liam, Logan, Keira, Jalin, Connor, Evan, Saoirse, William, James, Annabelle, Raiden, Jack, Carter, Ryze, Chase, Dylan and Meadow; and her sisters, Eileen Mounsey, Doris Foss and Marilyn Etherington. She is also survived by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
