He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Briggs and Marion Briggs (Roache) of Salem; his siblings, LeRoy "Bo" of Salem, Henry Of of Texas and Frances of Beverly; his sons, Peter Briggs and George Jr.; and his wife Betty Briggs (Abraham) of Danvers.
He is survived by: his daughter Janice; his son-in-law Stephen; his daughter Judith "Jude"; his son-in-law Clifford Nelson; his son John; and his daughter-in-law Martha. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 14 great grand children and many nieces and nephews.
