He was predeceased by: his wife Judith L.; his parents, James B. Jr. Kidney and Catherine R. Kidney (White); and his sister Mary O'Leary. He is survived by: his children, Deborah Mikulski (Stephen) of Danvers, Michael Kidney (Lori) of Danvers, James Kidney (Tara Bettencourt) of Salem and Maureen Fisher (Troy) of Beverly; his grandchildren, Andrew Mikulski (Anastasia), Kathleen Mikulski, Matthew Kidney, Kaitlyn Kidney, Emily Fialho (Eric Fialho), Troy, Fisher Jr., Catarina Fialho and Robert Kidney (Arlene) of Beverly; and his brother Kevin Kidney.
