He is survived by: his son Kevin McCusker (Gina) of Danvers; his grandchildren, Maren and Patrick; and his siblings, Eileen McDermott and Richard McCusker. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim's name may be made to the Diabetes Research & Wellness Foundation, 1832 Connecticut Avenue, NW.
