He was predeceased by: his parents, Patrick Raftery and Ellen "Nellie" Raftery (O'Brien); his wife Barbara A. Raftery (Carlton); his son Michael P. Raftery; and his siblings, John, Joseph Raftery, Mary Spates and Helene Raftery.
He is survived by: his children, Debra A. LeBlanc (Maurice "Moe") of Topsfield, Maura Raftery of Venice, FL, Mark T. Raftery (Christine Frazier) of Danvers and Thomas M. Raftery (Davida) of Topsfield; his grandchildren, Thomas Raftery, Keith LeBlanc (Kerrie), Kaitlin Cobb (Peter), Erin Harkins (Jay), Jenna Long (Chris), Brett Raftery, Connor Raftery and Cate Raftery; his great grandchildren, Caroline LeBlanc, Brandon Cobb, Charlotte, Violet Long, Deacon and Brinley Harkins; his sisters, Anna Loughlin of Peabody and Theresa Elliott of Burlington; and his sister-in-law Patricia Raftery of Lynn. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
