He was predeceased by: his parents, Patrick A. Doherty and Jean J. Doherty (Gillespie); and his parent-in-law Claire McDonough (Hines). He is survived by: his wife Ann Winifred Doherty (McDonough); his children, Margaret Winifred Doherty of Dorchester, Nora Rosamond Doherty of Dorchester and Gavin Ann Doherty of Dorchester; his father-in-law James McDonough of Dorchester; his siblings, Thomas Doherty of Spain, Jean Doherty (Phillip Cooper) of Dorchester, Carole (William Harris) of Squantum, Eileen (Joseph Boyle) of Dorchester, Mary Cahill of Foxboro, William Doherty (Kim Kroeger) of Quincy and Martin Doherty of Maine; and his siblings-in-law, James (Nancy McDonough) of Abington, Paul (Erin McDonough) of Dorchester, Lisa (William Smith) of Braintree and Steven McDonough (Ali Bennett) of Abington. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
