He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James Whelan and Eileen Whelan (Ring); his brothers, James Whelan of Dorchester, Patrick Whelan of Quincy and Michael (Roberta Whelan) of Hanover; his siblings' children, Matthew (Crystal Whelan), Keith Whelan, Courtney Whelan (Robert MacLean), Jason (Jessica Whelan) and Kari (Julian Allatt); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Nora, Lyndon, Fiona, Casey and Nolan.
