He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward F. Cotter and June M. Cotter (Daly); and his brother Edward J. "Ted" Cotter. He is survived by: his wife Eileen M. Cotter (Griffin); his children, Daniel R. Cotter of Dorchester, David E. Cotter of Dorchester and Yorkie "Teddy"; his siblings, Kevin L. Cotter (Elizabeth) of Quincy, John J. Cotter (Mary Ann) of Pembroke and June M. Lanctot (Peter) of Foxboro; and his sister-in-law Nancy E. Cotter of North Weymouth. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
