It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan L. Lougee (Duxbury, Massachusetts), born in New Bedford, Massachusetts, who passed away on February 9, 2020, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Edwin Lougee III; her son Greg Smith; and her sibling Claire Butterfield. She is survived by: her children, Susan Thomas (Alfie) of Plymouth, Christine Smith (Merry) of Pembroke, Jane Wales (Paul) of Duxbury and Richard Lougee (Jacquie) of Kingston; her grandchildren, Taylor Merry (Jason), Nicholas Merry (Jenni), Alex Merry (Kirsten), Lauren Miller (Mitch), Heidie Hosker (Scott), Alyssa Collin (Hutton), E. J. Thomas (Alexandra), Abigail Thomas (James), Marshall Lougee and Tori Lougee; her great grandchildren, Gavin, Dylan Merry and Beloved; her siblings, Paulette J., Avignon of Manchester, Theresa Cartmell, Galambos, Gabrielle Champagne, Madeleine Butterfield, Raymond LaForest, Paul Laforest and John LaForest; and her sister-in-law Nancy LaForest of Plymouth.
