He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Anthony J. Penta and Mary Crescio Penta; his wife Grace E. (Caggiano); his children, Stephen Penta (Lorrie) of Winthrop, MA, Marilyn Elliott (Peter) of Medford, Ruth Penta Steele (Mark) of Salem, MA, Arthur Penta (Yaping) of San Francisco, CA, Valerie Morelli (Bruce) of Amherst, NH, Lisa Penta of Clearwater, FL and Christine Penta of Swampscott, MA.; and his siblings, Ernest, John, Vincent, Robert Penta, Louise Phaneuf and Charlotte Penta. He was also cherished by his extended family, including his twelve grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
