He is survived by: his parent Maria; his son David Benevides (Nelia); his grandchildren, Angelina Benevides, Jonathan Benevides and Joseph Benevides; his siblings, Jos, Antonio, Maria, Guilhermina Benevides and Carolina Dias; and also, Trindade Raposa of Melo and Anjos Benevides (Moniz). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
