We are sad to announce that on December 3, 2018, at the age of 92, Muriel A. Bates (Fall River, Massachusetts) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, James McKenna and Floretta McKenna (Bruneau); her child Gary M. Bates; her grandchild Rachel E. Cournoyer; her sibling James McKenna; and her child-in-law Caroline Bates (Olson).

She is survived by: her husband John Bates; her children, Steven M. Bates of Dartmouth, Jeffrey M. Bates (Robert Millar) of Fall River, Karen M. Cournoyer (Thomas) of Fall River and Susan Boulay; and her grandchildren, Jennifer, Katie, David, Sarah, John, Shawn, Joshua, Andrew, Rebekah, Elizabeth, Angela, Austin and Kelsey. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren and two on the way, Cashton, Fiona, Gia, Jameson, Gracelyn and Madelyn; many nieces and nephews.
