He was predeceased by: his parents, Carlos Gil and Gracinda Gil (Pereira); and his sister Lina Gil. He is survived by: his wife Maria José Gil (Silva); his daughters, Sandra Gil and Sónia (Bryan Dawley); his grandchildren, Lana and Nolen; and his siblings, José Gil, Joaquim Gil, Joao Gil and Graça. He is also survived by brothers in law, sisters in law, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
