He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Costa and Phyllis Costa (Brown); and his brother Timothy Costa. He is survived by: his spouse Carole I. Costa (Morash); his sons, Howard "Ted" Costa III (Janice) and Scott Costa (Erika); his grandchildren, Brittany, Aaron Costa of Falmouth, ME, Jenna Costa of Gloucester and Sophia Costa of Gloucester; his niece Kimberly Marr Foster (Colin); and his nephews, James Marr, Jr. (Sarah Harwood) and Timothy Costa.
